The World Economic Forum on Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia will convene over 1,000 leaders in Istanbul, Turkey on June 4-6, 2012 to catalyse new partnerships for growth and human development. According to the World Economic Forum statement, the host of this special Forum meeting is Turkey, a country that has emerged in recent years as a critically important player on the regional and global stage by consistently achieving economic growth of 7–10% in recent years, and by successfully carving out increasingly influential regional and global roles. Moreover, Istanbul, as both a magnet for the global business community and a cultural melting pot, is an ideal venue for the meeting.
